In the abundance of images that come our way today, Kieke Kurstjens looks for images that come close, by looking at her (more-than-human) surroundings. For example for ‘the Golden Gaze’ she turned her eye towards the "weeds" around her childhood home. She uses Wonder as a tool for (re)connecting with the beauty of the everyday. Often fascinated by still lifes, she shows the wonders of this world: both sublime and full of surprises .
In her current project ‘In pursuit of fellow urbanites’, she turns her eye to the plants of the city, in search of moments when we can see the city beyond its human perspective.
