I'm fascinated by the art of still lifes. It interests me how a still life takes something out of its context: only by placing the living world in a vase, it seems to capture attention. Like a field researcher, I collected all the species I encountered in a defined area into an arrangement using the same vase, table, background, and natural lighting.
